Individual Therapy - Illness & Caregiving

When your life is touched by illness

When you or someone you love is diagnosed with a serious illness or condition, a ripple effect takes place. Its impacts are felt by the patient and by all those who love, surround and care for that individual.

Therapy can be the lifejacket that keeps you afloat in rough waters so you can return to a more steady state.

My clients are individuals who are patients, care partners, survivors, family members and other relations in an individual’s support circle. Clients come seeking help with emotional, practical, relational and existential concerns, and for health care decision-making counseling.

With dedication, compassion, and collaboration, I help you cope and regain a sense of control with individualized attention and care for you and those most important to you.

My approach

Mutual trust and respect is at the core of the therapist/client relationship.

Therapy is focused on helping you adjust, cope and improve your quality of life as defined by you, the client.

I meet you where you are and do not judge you. Together we clarify and prioritize your goals for therapy and develop a plan for moving forward. If you are in crisis, the immediate work is on crisis resolution and restoring your functioning.

My philosophy

We are all unique individuals, with our own histories, experiences, and backgrounds that shape us into who we are today. There are no universal right and wrong feelings or experiences; rather feelings and experiences are as individual as we each are. You are the expert of you. I am the expert in the therapeutic process. We come together as equals to discover what works best for you and move forward to reduce suffering and improve quality of life. The right way for you.

Simply put

I strive to provide a safe space for you to be valued, seen and heard. Together we strategize a personalized plan to prioritize and address your concerns in a way that feels comfortable for you and your unique circumstances. We will clarify your values, your inner strengths and identify resources to serve as guideposts on your journey.
